And For Halloween I…

Totally forgot it was Halloween (since it’s not celebrated here in Singapore) and only briefly remembered today as “Oh yeah, Final Fantasy XII goes retail today, doesn’t it?”

More Bully

I have now acquired the respect of The Nerds, a clique not to be taken lightly despite their seemingly harmless D20 fixations. The bullies have also learned to respect me, though the Jocks, Preps and Greasers still take a swing at me whenever possible.

I STILL feel like I’m 16 again…

Bully For You

Today was spent almost entirely running around on private school grounds avoiding beatings from Jocks and Preps.

God, I feel like I’m 16 again…

My New Toy

The initial verdict so far:

It’s fun! And there’s really nothing more controversial than the average Warner Brothers cartoon. Ah, Jack Thompson, why do you keep making Rockstar more money by pointing bringing to the media’s attention games that would otherwise only make a decent or modest profit? Sometimes I wonder if he’s not actually working for Rockstar, except that they’re charging him with contempt of court…

Season 2.5 of Battlestar Galactica.

So yes, you can expect this will mean a lot zombified drooling in front of the TV as THE GREATEST FREAKIN’ SCIENCE FICTION TELEVISION SERIES UNFOLDS BEFORE MY UNWORTHY EYES…

Holiday Still Means Work

Today is actually Hari Raya in Singapore, which, if you are surrounded by Muslims the way I am, means that you don’t experience any morbid fear that this is some bizarre alien ritual involving bombing Americans to the stone age. It is in fact an old Islamic tradition where they celebrate the ending of the month long fasting they have been doing as a reminder to exercise restraint and self-control in all aspects of your life.

It also means not having to go in to work. Sadly, I am still working away anyhow as yet another revision of the script for the game documentary goes in (they really, REALLY like getting in multiple revisions) and I experience some mild relief from the near constant itching that’s been plagueing me for the last few days. Looks like steroids are good for something after all, though I suppose having two different kinds in my bloodstream at the moment would mean an automatic fail in any athletic competition right now..

Ow.

Upon seeing a doctor this evening, I found out that my skin may not be flaking off any time soon from sunburn after all. Instead, I’ve got a body wide skin infection, something like eczema, which has somehow spread throughout my limbs and made me incredibly itchy, red with some seriously inflamed skin.

I got a bit alarmed when the doctor, upon taking a look at my arm, actually widened his eyes somewhat and said “Wow.”

I thought it was just sunburn. He, on the other hand, I suspect had never seen a skin infection on this scale before. Fortunately it’s treatable, I’m on a battery of separate steroid pills that amount to takin four pills (or three different kinds of steroids) for a few days, which, I am assured, will not have the usual steroid side-effects of bulging muscles and Hulk-like rage. Instead, this will clear out a nasty complexion that has somehow decided “Why stop at the face?” and run rampant throughout the rest of me.

Joy…

Home & Cat Shit

Coming home was not quite as pleasant as we’d hoped.

We had a friend agree to come over and feed the cats while we were out, but unfortunately, my retarded cat, Zero, had something of a psychotic breakdown while we were away. The bed, normally a place where both cats would lazily sleep the days away, somehow turned into his new shit zone, and thus, our shitty kitty had left many brown, smelly presents all over the bed the last few days, necessitating a quick trip to the mall before it closed, to get new bedsheets. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, the smell still faintly lingers in the air and I’m not sure if its simply because its soaked itself into the mattress, or we simply missed some somewhere. Either way, that was a pretty gross homecoming. I guess the usual cat instinct to not mess the area you sleep in got thrown out the window by my cat’s anxiety about not seeing either of us around, something that hasn’t happened to him in years. At least, that’s my theory for the moment.
