Holy CRAP
This is my 700th post. Who would’a thunk it after these last few years. And all I have to show for it is… quite possibly one of the most boring blogs on the internet.
But lack of drama aside, I get to mess with a Playstation 3 tomorrow. The office has one, and I get to be the lucky geek to give it the GameAxis Hardcore Gamer Appraisel, since most other people have too much dignity and an actual life to give a damn. How wonderful for me…

Hey, I realized I never got your email addy, dude. Would’ve preferred to send this that way, but then again, it’s all good.
Heard from a Microsoft exec over here in Manila that Carrefour (is that right?) has a special sale for Xbox 360s (which I never thought of seriously buying until I saw Gears of War). Would you know anything about this and how much it costs? If it’s cheaper there than here (it costs 550-600 Sing in Manila), I’ll find a way to get one from over there. Waste my Christmas money with a new Xbox.

Hm… I’ve never heard of this deal, but right now the typical Xbox 360 is selling in Singapore as a bundled set for about S$699 with a crap game. Seems like Xbox 360′s are actually cheaper in Manila than Singapore because you do NOT want to buy the local versions. For one thing they are region coded NTSC/J, which means they don’t run American games, and for another, they run on 220V rather than the 120 that I think Manila is on.
On the whole, if you can get an Xbox 360 in Manila, it seems like compatibility and price issues are better there than here in Singapore. I’d only advise going for the Carrefour deal if you know it means getting an NTSC/UC model, otherwise you’re setting yourself up for a world of compatibility issues if you’re thinking of also getting the HD-DVD player…
