I Can’t Believe It’s Almost Over

When I got this in the mail today, it was with a mix of both hand rubbing anticipation and mild sadness mixed with dread.  For the last few years, Battlestar Galactica has been one of the single, greatest things to ever happen to science fiction television.  Yes, in my opinion better than Babylon 5 and, in a fit of heresy, yes, better than Star Trek .  Waaaaaaaaaaaay better.

But now, with this latest installment in my hands, it means one thing; the ride is almost over.  Season 4 is the final chapter of this ground breaking series for SF-TV, and once it is all said and done (and it NEEDS to be all said and done, all good stories are done eventually) then what happens when the light is put out?  Where do I turn for an SF-TV experience like this once it’s all over?  WHERE CAN I GO?!?

That’s the problem with something as good as this.  You feel the lack when it’s not there anymore, kind of like when your significant other goes on a trip without you.

  • Stuart has been watching BG without me, because when he started it, I was buried in Stargate and didn’t feel up to following two series. Now, I’ve OD’d on Stargate, haven’t finished Torchwood, haven’t started Dr. Who Season 4 although it’s been in our possession for at least a month, haven’t started anything else (Farscape, etc.)

I think I have DVD burn.
