Back In The Game Beat
It’s been a while since a recurring print thing popped, and definitely a first as far as Canadian stuff goes, but I can now announce that Canada has its own video game magazine at long last, and I’m one of the writers. It’s called C & G Monthly, which stands for Comics & Gaming. There’s already a website up and running and the magazine is available in both print and digital versions. At a guess, I’d say the digital version is probably the easier to get right now since the magazine is only available at smaller newstand retailers right now, though distribution at bigger stores like Chapters and Indigo are in the work.
Hopefully this is the start of a new and long lasting magazine. When I was a kid, I still remember lovingly going over the pages of a new Electronic Games issue every month and wondering why it was that Canada never had a magazine of its own. That wondering only got more pronounced as the years went by and amazing companies like BioWare and Ubisoft Montreal started putting Canada on the map. Well, at least now I can stop wondering. I’ve got a couple of reviews and features in the magazine, and there’s plenty more lined up for the future. So yeah, you Canadian game nerds, you finally have a voice.
