And The Crowd Goes Wild

Couple of quick pictures taken down at good ol’ Bloor just a short while after insanity broke out. I was minding my own business when screaming, in the streets, honking horns, and finally, yes, fireworks, started breaking out. A quick walk down to Bloor and Bathurst revealed all manner of high-fiving going on, and guys running about with the Canadian flag attached to hockey sticks.
Oh well, it was a good run. 14 gold medals, and a win in hockey against the USA. I guess we’re entitled to go a little nuts once in a while.
And after living away from Canada for so many years, I have to admit, these shows of patriotism and genuine love and pride for the country actually mean something to me now. Knowing what it’s like in other nations, I don’t take this for granted any more.
