Baffling But Cool Lunches
Sat around today enjoying dim sum with Mike Carey and his wife. I’m still trying to figure out exactly how that happened. If nothing else, it reminded me I really need to finish up those writing projects.
Yay, Comics
Was talking to some of the Wife’s friends and got a few offers to collaborate on some comics. This should be interesting.
Super Nerd Day
Saturday is, of course, the nuclear fission point for Fan Expo since the nerd community has an entire free weekend to go nuts.
Too Many Artists
It’s that time of the year again, when the Toronto Comic Arts Festival descends. We came, we saw, we nerded out.
Mr. 90s Comic Book
In the continuing efforts to do a feature for DC Universe Online today I interviewed Jim Lee. I had no idea he was such a HUUUUUUUGE Everquest nerd.
Make Mine Marv
Marv Wolfman, that is. Interviewed him today for a feature on DC Universe Online. Also got the full retail game in, so it’s time to sit down and do some serious grinding for the review.
Welcome To Copyright Infringement
So after the successful download of the client for DC Universe Online, The Wife, staring at the character creation system had the vast array of the entire DC pantheon of heroes to inspire the creation of her heroine.
She made Psylocke.
Interviews & Dead Mice
TCAF kept us busy. The Wife was supposed to go down and do illustrations for kids at the request of Owl Magazine for whom she’s heavily contributed illustrations. I had to go down to interview Scott Campbell. Not a house-hold name, but anyone that’s played Psychonauts or Brutal Legend has Scott to blame for the unique art direction, since he’s the Double Fine Art Director. TCAF was also very different this year since there were actually people at the tables that we knew, so there were friends to visit and talk to amongst the ridiculous level of talent on display.
And, we returned home to find a dead mouse had been neatly deposited at the base of our fan. I have no idea where the mouse came from, or if there are more, but apparently two cats in the house were far more than the poor bastard could reasonably deal with.
Wayne is on...
