Rush Review
Got Killzone 3 in for review. Gotta’ power through that mother over the next couple of days.
Prepping
The Game Developers Conference is coming soon. Time to get ready for that.
Fear Factor. Again.
This time around, I know better, so I picked up Dead Space 2 on day one, since the first one kind of caught me by surprise when I played it much, much later. It’s not not quite on the same level of horror as Siren or the venerable Silent Hill series (at least the earlier titles) but it manages to do a good job of polishing up the now almost stereotypical American “Jump Scare” technique.
Digital Heroes
Madly grinding through DC Universe Online now. It’s a lot faster once you know how to do the missions and know which skills and powers to pick ahead of time thanks to beta experience.
Mr. 90s Comic Book
In the continuing efforts to do a feature for DC Universe Online today I interviewed Jim Lee. I had no idea he was such a HUUUUUUUGE Everquest nerd.
Last Shootout Of The Year
Messed around with a little Halo: Reach LAN party in which many heads were shot.
Curiosity Wins
Dragged back Nier from the office. It was pretty much written off by most as another one of Those Crazy Japanese games. But when I heard it was done by Cavia, the same team that did monolithic WTF game Drakengard, I had to give it a try. Those guys are on a whole other level of insane Japanese game development.
Ow.
Mental note to self; any game that gives you multiple slivers in your fingers because you had to move the wood framed couch out of the way to make enough room for the required Playstation Eye space is bad game. Sorry Kung Fu Live, you just lost me.
Meeting The Makers
Had an appointment today with Sony Online Entertainment for more coverage of DC Universe Online. I grilled ‘em about everything from Jim Lee and Marv Wolfman to Aquaman.
Impressing Batman
The Wife’s psychic ninja Psylocke rip-off continues to make the rounds in Gotham and Batman is duly impressed. For the DC fanboy, there’s actually quite a lot to love about this game. Kevin Conroy voicing Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker also help a lot. I was also amazed that there’s an actual appearance by Ambush Bug.
Wayne is on...
