Prepping

Got an interview tomorrow.  For once with a friend of mine, so this should be weird…

Whee For 3D

Finished up an article today on my hands on session with the upcoming Nintendo 3DS.  I dunno if this thing will sell like crazy or not (it probably will) but at least I can say the 3D actually works.

Meeting The Makers

Had an appointment today with Sony Online Entertainment for more coverage of DC Universe Online.  I grilled ‘em about everything from Jim Lee and Marv Wolfman to Aquaman.

Yay Konami

Went down to a Konami holiday preview event held in town.  Always nice to see some upcoming games, though the lack of Silent Hill, Metal Gear Rising and–for the RPG nerd in me in particular–Suikoden, was a bit of a downer.  Oh well, maybe next year…

Ubisoft

So there was the big Ubisoft Studio opening today.  Many big names in the Nerd Industry.  Decadence abounds.  I felt strangely comfortable and yet simultaneously enormously out of place, because it was, after all, nerds, which is my tribe, but nerds at a party, which is Not My Scene.

Went down to the Sony office and got more hands on time with the new Move system for the PS3.  Can’t talk about it yet as I’m writing an article about the experience.

Candy & Nintendo

So there was a press event held on Queen Street to show off the Nintendo games for press that didn’ t make it to E3.  I went down with one of the other C&G guys to check it out and it was as advertised, except for the free candy (yay) and lack of Nintendo 3DS (boo).  Still, I saw the same demo for Epic Mickey that I did at E3 and the game is still looking like an interesting addition to the Wii library.

Discrete Commentary Units

It took something like four separate phone calls spread out over the course of the day, but the interview is done.  I can now also say that I have heard David Jaffe tell his children that their bad behavior was going to be reported in Canada.

A decidedly odd day.  Good interview though.  Just a metric ton of stuff now to transcribe.
