The Night Before The Night Before

And I finally got to see The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.  Pretty tightly done.  Agatha Christie for the post-millenial set.

The Nordic Verdict

Thor is a harmless movie.  Not amazing, but not terrible either.

Oh That Wes…

Despite really enjoying his other films, I had never seen Rushmore until today.  I now feel regret about that.  Funny, painful and brilliant.

Yay, Giant Turtles

This was a pleasant surprise.  Picked it up while randomly checking through the HMV on Queen Street West.  The 90s revival of Gamera is one of the best giant monster–or Kaiju–movies around, and I didn’t think it would ever appear on Blu-Ray, but here we are.

Undead Movies

Okay, so Zombieland was actually a pretty damn good film.  I hadn’t heard anything about it previously, being terminally unhip, but renting it and giving it a watch was an extremely funny and pleasant surprise.  In particular, Bill Murray in The Greatest Cameo Ever.
