Too Much Stuff
Got a ton of articles to write for C&G this month. This is a good thing.
Back In The Game Beat
It’s been a while since a recurring print thing popped, and definitely a first as far as Canadian stuff goes, but I can now announce that Canada has its own video game magazine at long last, and I’m one of the writers. It’s called C & G Monthly, which stands for Comics & Gaming. There’s already a website up and running and the magazine is available in both print and digital versions. At a guess, I’d say the digital version is probably the easier to get right now since the magazine is only available at smaller newstand retailers right now, though distribution at bigger stores like Chapters and Indigo are in the work.
Hopefully this is the start of a new and long lasting magazine. When I was a kid, I still remember lovingly going over the pages of a new Electronic Games issue every month and wondering why it was that Canada never had a magazine of its own. That wondering only got more pronounced as the years went by and amazing companies like BioWare and Ubisoft Montreal started putting Canada on the map. Well, at least now I can stop wondering. I’ve got a couple of reviews and features in the magazine, and there’s plenty more lined up for the future. So yeah, you Canadian game nerds, you finally have a voice.
Lunch With Capy
Today was spent hanging out at the office of Capybara Games and then going down to a noodle house to hang out, talk and get to know them better. I’m writing an article about these guys, and they’re an all around good crew. I like articles like this.
And More
It looks like I’ll now be a contributor to a new magazine starting up in Toronto, so… yeah. More writing about games. Which means still more boring posts like this.
Tinkering
Actually started messing around with the beginning of a new novel, which is probably a bad idea since the kid’s novel still isn’t done, but I got the itch.
Not Scaramouche

At least, not yet. But Queen has finally come to Rock Band 2 today. My God, that only took forever, didn’t it?
Also I have a new gig as the Toronto Video Games Examiner. Check it out. Subscribe. Leave comments. Tell your friends. Pay some attention to me, dammit.
Slow Saturday
Aside from writing some comic, I tore up more Civilization: Revolution but mostly watched the Wife do it even better.
I Got My Days Wrong
For some reason, I thought today was Tuesday and not Wednesday. Oh well, more writing continues, and Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is now being dutifully played through.
Back To Fictional Stuff
With the majority of articles out of the way (High-Def Digest excepting, since that’s bi-weekly) it’s time to get back to the children’s novel and the comic with the Wife.
Oh, and keep playing Half-Life 2: Episode One.
The Monthly Ritual
Yup, back to GameAxis articles for the next issue. And watching the Wife begin a slow but truly frightening mastery of the nuances of resource management in Civilization: Revolution. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her in this much anticipation of a game. She’s alternately flipping between getting the PC version to tide her over until next month, or importing the UK version because for some reason, Europe gets the title a month before North America. This week, in fact.
Wayne is on...
